Parent Objects

The topic object is found under the topic block or nested in another topic object. The heirarchical order of these topic objects and exttopic objects is the source of the table of contents.

Child Objects

A topic object has two kinds of child objects in terms of functionality: (1) structure-building, and (2) content-building.

Structure-Building Objects

Structure-building objects are those which help build the table of contents of the help documentation.

A topic object can nest an unlimited number of topic objects and depth. It can also contain an unlimited number of exttopic objects.

Content-Building Objects

Content-building objects are those which compose the contents of a topic. These objects are also called composites.

Two main content-building objects are: (1) the head composite object, and (2) body composite object. To have a valid content, a topic must have one of the two. Only one from each kind may be compiled.

The feature composite completes the list. This composite does not automatically apply to the topic it is a member of. In fact most of the time, it does not apply at all to the same topic.
